Day 8

Today mommy was at training all day, so she missed out on most of the fun. Samantha wanted to wash her own hair tonight - which maybe means that when mommy does it we won't scream as much as we have been! Not much else exciting 'round here!

Day 7

Holding hands at the zoo is always a good choice. :)
And trying to catch roly-polies is fun and frustrating!

We had a good time at the zoo - they are opening early for members on Mondays this month, and while it was a bit busier than I expected, we were out by 11, when it was starting to get hot, so that was nice. Mommy and Taylor and Nanny got to have 'girl-time' and get pedicures, so we are really ready for summer now! Today the only baby who sat on the potty was one of the baby dolls, so no news there! Mommy has training all day tomorrow, and while she will greatly miss watching soccer, she hopes she learns something! (And that daddy doesn't go nuts!)
(Oh, and that's her new knit top she's wearing! It turned out really cute - I'm pleased!)

Day 6

Today we contemplated the potty - nothing happening yet, but we sure are interested!
We fed babies - such a good mommy!
And we took Cowie and Mr. Potato Head for a walk (and lovie got to come too!)

We had a nice quiet day at home. Daddy made fish and squash on the grill, fried leeks, and we had fruit pizza for dessert. Mommy started her summer schoolwork and her head is going to explode. Mommy finished knitting a top for Samantha - pictures tomorrow! We are off to the zoo in the morning!

Day 5

Day 5: Running, farmer's marketing, swimming, playing. Tired.

Day 4

We played with lizards and rode bikes.
We tried on the new dress mommy made - and we liked it!
Daddy made mommy a pressing table so she doesn't have to get up to go to the ironing board while piecing quilt blocks!

We also built towers with daddy, discovered toys we hadn't played with in months, helped mommy finish the quilting on a quilt and ate our first bowl of ice cream (with mixed results - we seemed to like it, but declared it to be "cold." Mommy started knitting a new tank top for the wee one and planned some new sewing projects. Daddy cleaned out the garage, and kept a close eye on the washing machine to make sure it was all better (sources say yes!). Daddy also started watching the World Cup, much to mommy's excitement.

Day 3

Sorry about the crappy photo - it's the only one I took all day, and it was early and overcast outside, which makes for not so great indoor pictures.
Today someone finally let mommy take a picture of bunny ears+tutu (though we couldn't find the sunglasses). Mommy fought with the sewing machine tension, quilted most of a quilt, finished knitting the body of a sweater, and completed all the knitting on a dress for Samantha - hopefully finishing and photos tomorrow! We had tacos for dinner for the third night this week. Taylor didn't get out of bed until after 10 am (when we sent Samantha to get her!). They kept predicting rain yesterday and today, but we didn't see a drop, much to the dismay of our lawn and water bill. And finally, mommy heard a funny noise from the garage, and when daddy went to investigate, he saw smoke coming out of the washing machine. Turns out daddy left a screwdriver in his pockets, didn't check them when he put the laundry in, and the screwdriver fell out and into one of the holes in the bottom of the machine, where it kept the motor from spinning. Hopefully it will be OK - we'll attempt another load tomorrow, when someone can watch it the whole time!

Day 2

Day 2 has come and gone. We went to the library and checked out a ton of books, movies and music. We dressed up in our tutu, bunny ears and sunglasses, and then refused to let mommy take our picture. We discovered the joy of going down the slide on our belly - even the big twisty slide! And mommy managed to get these napkins sewn up and one quilt quilted!

Day 1

As a teacher, one of the "perks" of the job is summer vacation. This year our summer vacation is exactly 69 days long - I counted. :) In order to help me get back into the blogging thing, to make me take more pictures (there were pictures on my memory card from last June!) and to remember all the stuff we do outside of school, I started this blog. Welcome!

Today we spent time sitting in our new chair (it's a winner!) and basting 3 quilts. Oh, and there was other stuff too - "play, play, play," watching "Is Your Mama a Llama?" and dumping play food everywhere. A good first day!
